Unabashed Racism in the Bush DOJ _Civil Rights_ Division
Some points are so ironic that they will never be brought to the table for debate.
Here we have certain operatives pointing out that the Bush Justice Department Civil Rights Division practiced ideological purging, and racism in their attempts to pack the division with conservatives. The key point that is not likely to be brought up is practices that have been used in the past to pack the division with progressives who are keen on filing civil rights lawsuits.
Roughly 2 years ago I heard a former attorney from this division give a radio interview. He was a White male, PROGRESSIVE. His argument was that the Civil Rights Division has been derailed as evidenced by the reduction in lawsuits filed for civil rights protection. In his mind the Clinton era numbers were the golden reference. The more lawsuits the more proof that the division was doing its job.
By the time that I got on the radio to confront the man the interview was over. I challenged the talk show host, who was Black - as to why the same Black community would reject the DEA's argument that his agency's INCREASED drug arrests was proof that there are abundant drug problems. Do you see how one's perspective plays a part in all of this? How many times have we heard the "there are too many people in prison" crowd make note of the explosion of the prison population? They argue that America has not become a more violent nation. We have simply chosen to LOCK MORE PEOPLE UP thus it is the sentencing that must change so that the prison population can change.
Notice, however, when it comes to "favorable law and punishment" they want the printing presses that make the indictments and search warrants to speed up!!
From this same White male progressive I abstracted the "inferiority list" which I heard him use regarding population segments that have difficulty voting: "The elderly, the handicapped, the English as a second language people, the Black population". I can understand why everyone on this list would have a challenge in voting EXCEPT FOR "The Blacks". As he argued I felt that I as a Black person had some special type of inferiority that prevented me from locating my drivers license on voting day.
In summary - previous administrations packed the Civil Rights Division with PROGRESSIVES. In as much as some believe that the progressives OWN "Civil Rights" these actions were seen as normal. All that they did set the baseline on how the division is to act. The threshold that they used to trigger a lawsuit became the Golden Rule. Anyone who dares raise the bar is said to be introducing INJUSTICE.
In regards to the hits upon Dr Mary Francis Berry - I can't think of a better person to suffer such attacks. Recall that when former Republican senator Jeffords became an Independent and thus turned the Senate over to the Republicans? Mary Francis Berry - former executive with leftwing oracle Pacifica Networks - said in front of an NAACP luncheon "Gee and I was waiting for Senator Strom Thurmond to die so that the senate could flip to the Democrats". She, the sitting chairman of the "US Commission On Civil Rights" felt within her comfort zone to say such a thing.
Randy Schlozman crime and stupidity seems that he committed some of his antics to writing. He should learn to do as his more progressive counterparts do - operate with the goal of dominating the division absent the email trail.
“Take Back The Black Community Consciousness". It has been hijacked by embedded operatives who don't intend to develop the COMPETENCIES within. We once controlled this consciousness, focusing our activism directly upon our permanent interests. Today the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" has us as starters and some believe that this playing time translates into absolute progress for our people. My goal is to hold our permanent interests in their faces, forcing them to explain their actions.
