Centrism In And Of Itself Is Not A Goal - EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT Is What We Must Seek

Initial Statement: A centrist president would be a good thing..... wean off Americans from partisan politics

My Response: - I fundamentally disagree with you on this.

Do you believe that the single party cities of Chicago, NYC, Newark, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Atlanta or Milwaukee are HEALED? Are they providing effective services to the constituents there?

I recall listening to an otherwise liberal radio host from Philadelphia plead for the restoration of the regions Republican party in order to serve as a check to the corrupt Democratic machine in Philadelphia. She noted that while party-mates will call out the offenses of an opposing clique - at the end of the day they both are on the same team and they want to retain power. At least with partisanship the threat of the loss of power keeps those who would be corrupt looking over their shoulders in what they are doing for fear of exposure.

CENTRISM in and of itself is not a goal. EFFECTIVE GOVERNANCE must be the goal. Do you believe that if Cao in New Orleans becomes an effective CENTRIST that he is assured reelection in 2 years? Don't bet your life on it.

Instead the forces of the universe must keep New Orleans and other districts within a range of parameters. They either promote GOOD GOVERNMENT or be allowed to SUFFER FROM THEIR OWN CHOICES. The perpetual insertion of prophylactics from EXTERNAL sources which ABSTRACT the people from the ultimate CONSEQUENCES of their ideological biases only perpetuate their misinformed behavior. They will demand MORE because it comes as no ultimate cost to them because they are operating on some system of national ENTITLEMENT.

What better corrective behavior than "lay in the bed that you make yet make a different bed if you want CHANGE"?
