Again - I have no problem giving applause when actions warrant it.

The administrators at Madison High School in Houston have done the right thing by enforcing their dress code and behavior code at their recent Senior prom. When a female was dressed inappropriately and denied admission she clearly became less than civil and the police were called to scene and she was removed from the property. At face value the question is asked "why did the police have to be called". I give the benefit of the doubt to the Black administrators that her behavior created an unnecessary scene and that this was the appropriate action.

We must go back to the core question: How did this girl get out of her house wearing that dress? What reference was her mother operating from in agreeing to allow this? I realize that certain folks have an aversion to "conservative" ethos where moderation and temperance is requested because of the frequent hypocrisy but in disregarding all of these concerns she was caught up by the entity who would have been held accountable if they applied a liberal standard.

I hope that the community will defend the administrators at Madison High School. There are far too much erosion of our common standard of decency. The goal was to have a good time among friends that one night. Having a dress that crossed the line was not part of this.
